Jerry attended the Behrend campus of Penn-State, in Erie, Pennsylvania where he acquired a Continuing Education Certificate in Management. Along with being an award-winning outdoor writer and lecturer, Jerry works as an industrial repair specialist for an Erie manufacturer.
As an active member of the Pennsylvania Outdoor Writer’s Association (POWA), Jerry serves as the organization’s Ways & Means Chairman, maintaining contact with many supporting members that provide gear and services throughout the outdoor industry. Jerry is also an avid member of the Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA), serving on a couple technical committees for that prestigious organization.
This Pennsylvanian makes no bones of being an avid follower of Jesus Christ, and serves on the Christian Men’s Fellowship of the North East, Pennsylvania Christian & Missionary Alliance Church.
He is an avid sportsman, possessing many outdoor skills. He is also an outdoor writer and field tester for various outdoor companies including: "Grim Reaper Broadheads, Bear/Jennings Archery/Goldtip Arrows/PolarMAX and many more.
Besides writing for Wade Nolan, Jerry’s manuscripts and photographs are published in various State and National publications, including but not limited to Buckmasters, Fur-Fish-Game, Bow & Arrow, Petersen’s Bowhunting, Pennsylvania Game News, Pennsylvania Angler & Boater, Pennsylvania Outdoor News, Pennsylvania Outdoor Times, New York Outdoor News, and many others.
Jerry’s prime passions are hunting and fishing, and Pennsylvania provides adequate opportunities for both. “I just can’t think of anything that could possibly replace these passions”, remarks the Pennsylvania resident. “I can’t get enough of either, and I thank God for permitting me to enjoy the blessings he’s provided. I also enjoy camping and hiking in the off-seasons – if there is such a thing?”
As an avid sportsmen Jerry takes great pride in writing about legacy issues. “Winning awards for Youth in the Shooting/Hunting Sports, and Bass Pro Shops Pass It On are my most gratifying accolades. I don’t believe outdoor communicators will ever be able to do enough to get youth interested in hunting and fishing. Doing so is my greatest goal.
